Following a story carried on your Eastern/North Eastern editorial page of The Star of 25th January 2016 titled: ‘Probe CID cartel in Habaswein’ by David Mwere, and a subsequent rejoinder which ran on 26th January 2016 titled: ‘Claims on Habaswein CID yet to reach IPOA’ by a Correspondent, The Wajir South Member of Parliament, Mr. Abdullahi Diriye formally lodged the complaint with the Independent Policing Oversight Authority today.

The complaint broadly concerned alleged unlawful conduct by CID officers based in Habaswein who purportedly operate an illegal alien and contraband goods syndicate in Habaswein. IPOA’s Complaints Intake Committee which sits weekly will deliberate on this and other complaints tomorrow 28th January 2016 and advise the Authority on the matter.
