IPOA BOARD TAKES OFFICE

 

The second IPOA Board has officially taken office after the Chairperson Mrs. Ann Makori took oath of office alongside seven other Board Members.
The Board Members were sworn into office by the Deputy Chief Registrar of the Judiciary Mr. Paul Ndemo during the occasion witnessed by Chief Justice David Maraga.
The colourful event took place at the Supreme Court building and was attended by IPOA CEO Maina Njoroge.
Other Board members who also took oath of office are Ms. Doreen Nkatha Muthaura, Ms. Fatuma Mohamud Mohamed, Dr. Walter Owen Ogony, Mr. Jonathan Lodumpul Ltipalei, Hon John Muriithi Waiganjo, Ms. Praxedes Chepkoech Tororey and Dr. Jimmy Mutuku Mwithi.
The Chairperson pledged that, “the Authority shall continue strengthening support, cooperation and consultation with the Judiciary and entire criminal justice system to realise a professional National Police Service that embraces accountability.” 
The inaugural Board left office on May 22, on the expiry of a six-year term, as dictated by law.
The new Board comprising of professionals from various disciplines was appointed by H.E. President Uhuru Kenyatta through gazette notice No. 9559 and 9560 respectively after a rigorous process that included interviews and vetting by Parliament.​
